It’s really obnoxious when celebrity types have babies then only post pictures to Instagram of moments of bliss when everyone knows newborns turn you into a sleep-deprived half-person.
There’s the sleeping cherubic infant; the mother all “I woke up like this” with a full face of make-up; the obligatory bikini shot to show how she miraculously regained her pre-baby body but not the shots of her red, sweaty face as she grinds through another punishing workout in order to achieve that so necessary flat stomach.
New mum, Paralympian and Dancing with the Stars contestant Kelly Cartwright, 26, has no intention of curating just such an Instagram feed (she can’t help the six-pack, you guys. She’s an athlete).
Here’s the proof.
Cartwright had cancer as a teenager and had to have part of her right leg amputated.
She’s a world champion in long jump and the 100m sprint, and she won gold at the 2012 London Paralympics.
The athlete competed on Dancing with the Stars last year at five-and-a-half months pregnant. Her worst fear: “the leg falling off into the audience” was never realised.
Cartwright and her partner Ryan Miller welcomed their son Max two weeks ago.

I've got a suggestion for this "brutally honest" mother ... how about you put your phone down for 5 seconds and parent your little baby. Attention seeking much?
What's with all this "brutally honest" crap people go on with these days. All babies cry, don't always sleep, and they poo - so why do we congratulate and admire people for posting "honest" photos. It's life people; just get on with it. But congratulations Kelly - wishing you much happiness.
Because so many sugar coat the bad bits, make it out to be all rainbows and sweetness, leaving stressed anxious mums thinking they just crap at motherhood
