Senator for Tasmania, Jacqui Lambie, has released an Australia Day video, urging people who don’t like Australian values to find another country.
“G’Day! Let’s celebrate our Australia Day with pride and say our oath of allegiance,” she says.
The Senator then recites the pledge taken by new Australian citizens (but may be unfamiliar to people who are citizens by birth).
“From this time forward, under God, I pledge my loyalty to Australia and its peoples…”
The Senator, who is dressed in a sequined dress and a feathered hat, both bearing the Australian flag, closes with some advice to people who might not be committed to Australian values:
“Remember, if you don’t like our democratic rights, liberties and laws, equality for all, including women – gay and indigenous people – there are plenty of other countries to choose from.
“Keep safe and have a happy Australia Day.”
Senator Lambie has previously been opposed to same-sex marriage, so hopefully her Australia Day commitment to equality to gay people might just see her support marriage equality in 2016.

Please respect our democratic rights and laws except the right to choose what you wear, a fundamental form of self expression, as if Lambie doesn't like it she'll make it illegal.

Given everything else we know about Jacqui Lambie, I think the subtext is crystal clear. :\
You are right of course. Something in the smile gave it away also. I suppose I like what she said but not what she meant. Thing is, I believe she means well, even though I strongly disagree with most of her politics, and I think there's hope she can learn and change.
