Who are the women in your life you admire most? Your mum, your sister, an aunt, a colleague, perhaps a neighbour? As it’s International Women’s Day, we’re celebrating the women in our lives and thanking them for the impact they’ve made.
In 2015, the World Economic Forum predicted that it would take until 2133 to achieve global gender parity. We have come a long way towards gender equality and each of us can make a difference to the cause. Whether it’s supporting women and girls to achieve their ambitions, calling for more women in leadership, speaking up against workplace discrimination, raising our voices against sexism, exclusion and violence.
Today, we come together to say thank you but also to rally for change.

I'd like to say a big thank you to my wonderful father, now sadly deceased. He and my mother had a wonderful equal relationship, no one-up-man-ship, or a struggle for domination in sight.
My father was protective of his wife, which I guess today would ostracise him in the eyes of feminists. I mean how dare he care about his wife's well being!
Ok... Thanks Annette, and did she care about him? Sounds like a nice healthy equal relationship, something that feminists admire not deride.
Feminism is about equality and, as a feminist, your parents relationship sounds wonderful.
