Heath Ledger's sister is making sure his daughter never forgets him.

Heath Ledger’s sister is doing all she can to make sure his daughter, Matilda Ledger, never forgets her dad.

Kate Ledger, a publicist-turned-author, has spoken out about her relationship with nine-year-old Matilda, and how she keeps Heath in Matilda’s memories seven years after his death.

“I love telling [Matilda] stories about her daddy and how he grew up,” she told Sunday Telegraph. 

“I think it’s so important for her to have a good sense of where she comes from in order for her to get to know herself.”

Kate also praised Matilda’s mother, actress Michelle Williams, 34, for keeping Matilda out of the spotlight as much as possible.

“Michelle really does keep things real for her,” she said.

“And her existence, although different from most, is as normal as possible in an abnormal world.”

Michelle recently said that she looks at her daughter when she misses Heath.

“Every time I really miss him and wonder where he’s gone, I just look at her,” she told Vogue. 

Heath Ledger died in 2008 of an accidental overdose. He was awarded a posthumous Oscar for his role as The Joker in The Dark Knight in 2009, which his family accepted on his behalf.
