While it has been statistically proven that every single person reading this post is incredibly attractive, intelligent, generous, thoughtful, artistic, witty and terrific at singing Billy Joel’s We Didn’t Start The Fire, sometimes we mess up our makeup, or our hair, or our nails or our tanning.
This is entirely acceptable, obviously, because if we were all perfect all the time, none of us would ever truly stand out. That said, should a lady like to swiftly ameliorate her errors, and return to her flawless, shining glory, then she should definitely, probably consider these simple, hasty solutions.
1. Just say you leave the nail bar and you smudge your polish…
What, is it too hard to get money out of your wallet, and then put that money in the parking meter, and then get your keys out of your bag, and then unlock the car, and then put your seatbelt on without the full use of your nails? WHAT ARE YOU, SOME KIND OF MORON? I’m being facetious obviously: it’s impossible to do Real Life with wet polish, unless you have an assistant/three hours to sit completely still and not pick up anything, do anything or wee.
The fix: This is best fixed immediately, while the polish still isn’t dry. Gently press the smudge with your thumb, to gently massage the polish back into position. Don’t worry if it looks worse for a second. Now apply a coat of thick, shiny topcoat over the nail, which will – using ancient wizardry – blend it all together, mask the smudge, and create the illusion of a flawless varnish.

Geez Zoe, you got me on the last point there. I was actually thinking, "why a I reading about beauty stuff when I need to be finishing that report for 7am tomorrow morning?" and you caught me out.
At least I'll know how to look fab at work tomorrow when I'm delivering a dodgey report....
Hey ladies! Got any tips for where a freakishly pale girl (think like an albino but with darkish hair and greenish eyes) can find a reasonably-priced foundation? The lightest of light shades at Priceline/Myer/DJs all end up looking orangey on me. I want to rock my porcelain look but its a bit hard without a decent foundation to cover the occasional blemishes (they show up soooo red on my whiteness, too). Cheers!
I'm pale to and finding a cheap-ish foundation is a nightmare! I used the Rimmel Colour Match foundation for a while which was okay... but I've since gone to more expensive brands for foundation because of the variety of shades. Foundation is the one product I will spend money on. I use the Dior Forever Skin foundation and the Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser. The Stila Illuminating Foundation is awesome to and not as pricey. Good luck!

See this is the problem - I've tried the Rimmel and used to wear the lightest shade of Dior but they are still too dark. I am pretty much the colour of photocopy paper!
Covergirl does a very light foundation, can't remember what it's called though! I bought some but ended up being too light for me (and I'm pretty pale!) but perfect for my paper white friend :)
Try Bobbi Brown in the alabaster shade, that is what I am, and it's the lightest foundation I have been able to find. It's a bit exxy, but I've very fair skin also and it's the closest shade I've been able to find.
