Almost 25 years after Thelma and Louise drove off a cliff and into our hearts, its stars are planning to take a new road trip together.
Susan Sarandon, 67, and Geena Davis, 58, are going to do what they do best… Take a road trip together. To celebrate the quarter-century anniversary of their iconic film, they’re going to jump in a convertible and hit the road.
What could be more perfect?
But let’s all take a moment to appreciate the movie that became an instant game-changer:
Related: It’s time for a Thelma And Louise revival.
It starred badass feminine heroines who killed a goddam rapist.
It featured a selfie, before selfies had even been invented.
And it had Brad Pitt before he was BRAD PITT.
Basically, it was one of the most perfect films of all time.

Sarandon and Davis are clearly pals in real life and they seem to be pretty fond of the hit movie (as they should be).
Last year, they got together to recreate their original selfie for this cover of The Hollywood Reporter.
They told the publication that they were surprised by the huge reaction the movie received at the time:
SARANDON: I’ve always thought of it as a cowboy movie with women instead of guys on horses. But it was pretty shocking that people were so threatened by it. I didn’t see that coming at all. Like somehow we had backed into the territory long held only by white heterosexual men of a certain age.
DAVIS: What’s struck me is that there were two fantastic equal parts for women. Also, I don’t think any of us knew it would strike a nerve the way it did.
And finally, here is some bonus, vintage Brad Pitt for you:
You’re welcome.

Love that movie. You've just reminded me how long it's been since I saw it - must watch it again.
