Jennifer Lawrence has cemented her place as Best Celebrity Ever overnight when she left the red carpet during the Hunger Games: Catching Fire premiere to comfort a young fan.
The 23-year-old Oscar-winning actress walked over to a girl in a wheelchair who appeared to be crying, Lawrence waited for security to remove the barricade before posing for photographs, kissing her on the cheek and leaving her with a hug. Take a look at the video below.
Lawrence has also blasted the entertainment industry as “disgusting” over the sexualisation of young women in Hollywood.
“It’s a part of the entertainment industry that sells. Sex sells, and for some disgusting reason young sex sells even more,” Lawrence told the BBC.
Without mentioning Miley Cyrus but very possibly talking about her she said, “For some people, that’s how they feel best, that’s how they feel sexy.”
The Hunger Games star made a point of saying that she thinks that her portrayal of Katniss Everdeen heroine encourages young women to value strength of character over appearance.
“Growing up I didn’t have a female hero the way that Katniss is and I think she’s a wonderful role model for young girls. I’m happy that they have a character like that.”
