FLUFF: Miranda Kerr says "I feel sorry for my parents".

Miranda Kerr and family

Miranda Kerr has today revealed exactly what she thought about that TV interview her family gave to the ABC’S Family Confidential last year.

And it’s kind of awkward.

The 31-year-old supermodel has today told Sunday Style Magazine that she “feels sorry for her family”, claiming they were “naive” to give an interview to the media about how much they missed her.

“They got sucked into a situation and things get edited,” Kerr said.

In the particular interview Kerr is referring to, her family made a public plea for her to come home, claiming that they have not seen her, or her 3-year-old son Flynn, in over a year.

In an episode of the ABC’s Family Confidential, the Kerrs had said that they wanted the former David Jones ambassador to reconnect with them, particularly in the wake of the her split from British actor Orlando Bloom, which Miranda’s father John claimed he heard about from Orlando, not his daughter.

Mr Kerr said, “I remember him saying ‘we’re always going to be family’ and that’s how we’ll treat Orlando, Miranda and Flynn. We’re all family.”

Miranda with her brother, Matthew, and parents, John and Therese.

“I don’t know what happened to Miranda… she was such a nice little girl,” he said.

Her mother Therese told the program: “Miranda’s life is so different now – she’s surrounded by ‘yes’ people all the time. It’s so important for me to be real, to be true, to be who she needs me to be.”

“We have been best friends for most of our life. We used to talk just about every day. I send her messages, just little texts to say ‘I love you honey, let your little light shine, my arms are wrapped around you’,” Therese said.

At the time of the interview airing, there were numerous reports wondering why the family didn’t go directly to Miranda instead of the public first. And, apparently, Miranda wondered the same thing.

“That was kind of done without me knowing about it, and it’s funny because I’d invited them over many times throughout the year and they’d been too busy,” Kerr revealed during her Sunday Style interview.

“I was like, ‘Don’t do it! Don’t do it!’ And of course they love and miss their daughter and sister, just like I love and miss them. I’ll be seeing them soon, which will be really good.”

The Aussie beauty has already recently sparked controversy this year after hinting to GQ magazine that she may be bisexual.

Despite possible family tensions following both these controversial interviews, the family will be reunited soon – and will undoubtedly put it all behind them.

And if all else fails, they can always chuckle over the Bondi Hipster take on Miranda Kerr’s GQ photoshoot together.
