Leigh Sales is known for her razor-sharp interviewing skills.
But after her interview with new Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull on ABC’s 7:30 last night, Sales’ faced criticism for being too “soft” on the new PM.
The tone of this Tweet pretty much sums up the feedback.
I bet Abbott and Gillard wish they got as soft an opening #abc730 interview as Turnbull got ☺️

Regardless of the labels some people give to Leigh, her treatment of Abbott and Turnball was world's apart. Naturally one wonders why she had to be so rude to Abbott via constant interruptions after he spoke as little as 15-20 words and so apologetic to Turnball for interrupting him after he spoke a couple of hundred. Nothing she or anyone else can say or write changes that fact. It demonstrates to viewers her feelings towards each person. So much for neutrality and unbiased interviewing.
Love Leigh. So clever.
