The newest Kardashian paparazzi photo isn't fake. It's scarily real.

“Get off of me, get off of me. Stop. Stop.”

Khloe Kardashian is used to photographers following her every move.

Like all the Kardashian women, the reality star has come to expect every new hairstyle, curve and handbag to be recorded by cameramen and paparazzi.

But while most of the escapades caught on film are relatively light and harmless, a photographer’s lens this week captured a moment that was not only real, but really distressing.

The frightening moment, first reported by TMZ, involved 31-year-old Khloe being accosted by her estranged husband Lamar Odom outside her spin class in Beverly Hills, California.

In the grainy image, a relatively diminutive Khloe is seen looking upwards at professional basketballer Odom as he approaches her on the street on Wednesday morning.

According to TMZ, 208cm-tall Odom allegedly launched a verbal attack on his soon-to-be ex-wife Khloe, demanding that she speak to him.

When she kept walking towards the SoulCycle studio, the 35-year-old athlete allegedly  reached out to grab her arm.

Khloe then reportedly screamed: “Get off of me, get off of me. Stop! Stop!”

TMZ reports  that when an eyewitness asked Khloe if she wanted them to call the cops, Lamar yelled: “You’re not going to call the cops on Lamar Odom.”

A seemingly frightened Khloe then revealed that Odom was not supposed to know her whereabouts, yelling at him: “How did you know I was here?”

According to PEOPLE magazine, the frightening incident comes just weeks after Khloe was forced to change her phone numbers because Odom would not stop calling.

The scary incident also follows  years of alleged controlling behaviour, cheating and addiction issues on Odom’s part — which culminated in the filing of the pair’s divorce papers last month.

That creepy behaviour includes Odom “checking up on” his then-wife. In Season 8 of KUWTK, for example, he repeatedly calls her and then Caitlyn Jenner (then known as Bruce) to verify her whereabouts.

On that episode, Khloe said: “I can’t stop him from calling everyone’s phone… I know it looks weird. I don’t know what to say.”

In 2013, accusations of violence were also levelled at Odom when the former NBA player allegedly destroyed a paparazzo’s equipment.

According to Digital Spy, papparazo Stefan Saad accused Odom of “using violence, threats, force, destruction of property and intimidation to silence those questions he does not like”.

In the same year, a bizarre video also emerged showing a seemingly drug-affected Odom rapping about cheating on his then-wife while “Khloe’s out of town”.

We can’t pretend to know the full story behind Khloe Kardashian’s relationship with Lamar Odom, but we do know this: Odom’s behaviour is not that of a respectful person.

Any woman can imagine the fear that Khloe Kardashian felt when her allegedly violent, physically intimidating ex-husband screamed at her on the street and tried to physically restrain her.

And any woman who’s been in an unhealthy relationship can understand that, unlike the other photos we see of the Kardashians, this week’s paparazzi shot was not staged.

It caught a moment that was not only real, but absolutely chilling.

We’re glad Khloe got away.
