Kanye West dictates what Kim Kardashian wears. Continues to be a douche.

When you have to publicly defend your husband like this…it’s not a good thing.

Since they began dating in 2012, Kimye have had nothing short of an EPIC love story. An extremely photogenic, fashionable romance. One that they love to flaunt for anyone who is willing to watch.

But, their romance was not always as fashion-forward as Kanye would’ve liked, and he made damn sure Kim fixed that shit quick smart. So kind, he is.

It turns out that when the pair began their romance-of-epic-flower-wedding-wall proportions, Kanye thought Kim’s look was more drab than fab. He even went so far as to style shame her on Keeping Up With The Kardashians by throwing out half her closet and replacing it for her.

But Kim refuses to believe that her beau is in fact a huge douche, she says that she really needed him to intervene and show her that she had been wasting her years in body-con and sparkles.

“I was obsessed with glitter, rhinestone heels and the kind of clothes I now laugh at, and he threw them all out,” she told Love Magazine. “I said, ‘Well, I’m going to save them for my daughter one day’. And he said, ‘Well, if it’s going to be our daughter, she’s never going to wear those’.”

How lovely.

She went on to try and explain the situation away:

“I’d never spent time in London or Paris or seen what style was like around the world, so he wanted to bring in stylists from all over the world just to update my look… But to my fans – they saw this new guy come in and clean out my closet and they thought that was a sign of him being controlling. But it wasn’t that at all. He made me love fashion so much more… And I love doing photo shoots more now because I’m not afraid to wear different things. In the past, I’d have said, ‘No, I wouldn’t feel comfortable in that’… So it’s been a great education.”

And yes, there is general consensus among humans that finding someone who will push you out of your comfort zone like this is great. But whether or not dissing your partners’ wardrobe and making them replace it is “educational” remains undecided. Oh wait, we just decided, and it’s not.

Kim also addressed the speculation that Kanye is trying to make her leave KUWTK adding, “There are always so many different rumours out there, and headlines like ‘Kim quits the show!’ or ‘Kanye wants her to quit!’ as if he’s so controlling.

“But I’d say he’s the most liberal, free husband in the world. He always want me to do what I want.”
