The Duggars failed the people they should have been protecting. And that’s a truth they can’t cover up.
There has been a lot of talk of the Duggars over the past few days.
The fact that they actively concealed their son’s sexual offences, the measures that they took in response and the extensive explanations they have given about Josh’s “mistakes” (you can read more about that here).

Fans of their reality show 19 Kids and Counting are very concerned about the how Josh is coping with these mistakes from his past being brought up so long after it happened (you can read more about the bizarre justifications that fans have for Josh’s assaults here). And many viewers feel betrayed by the show (including Mia, who wrote about feeling sucked in to the Duggar circus here).
But there is one question that has not been asked of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar. And it is the question that matters the most:
Who was protecting the interests of the five girls who were molested on the breasts and genitals by Josh Duggar while they lay in their beds?
Four of Josh’s five victims were forced to live for years with their attacker. They were forced to watch on as their parents failed to act to protect them and waited years before reporting him to police. These girls smiled for the cameras of a reality TV show for TEN SEASONS, while the family kept their abuse a secret.

I'm not a huge devotee of public broadcasting in situations that have involved innocent children being hurt. To be frank - we don't know the full story. But.... This family have spent the last 10+ years making millions on their wholesome family values - how righteous they are, how perfect their children all are, how the kids never even kiss let alone have sex before marriage. Their brand is wholesomeness. The kids we all want to have. The perfect family we all want that all hang together and make all the right decisions and are fully devoted together to whatever they believe in. So the platform they have built up their millions on has now been discovered to be false. And they just kept on pretending. A 14 year old boy caught molesting his sisters should have had some serious consequences. I'm not talking jail time, but a plan that involved the law in some way. These laws are there for a reason. If every parent in the world did "self punishment" in these situations, teenage years without a copper at some stage giving you a freaking scare, then our society would be much worse than it is. Bad parenting Duggars - I genuinely hope your show is cancelled forever, you don't deserve it.
Just wondering, where did you get the information that four out of the five were his sisters? I hadn't heart that and was wondering if you could provide a source. All the other reports say five girls, which had included some of his family.
Don't get me wrong - what he did was reprehensible and I didn't know about the Duggars until this scandal but I think it's important to remember he was 14/15 at the time and that if he was tried/convicted, laws regarding juveniles would probably mean that at 18 he would be released and his record expunged.
It was a well written article, I don't think the girls are being considered enough either. Some of them may not have wanted this out. The girls shouldn't have to hide what happened but it's pretty disgusting that the media put it out knowing the trauma it would bring the girls.
Hi
If you look up the police report it's publically available and all the information is in there excpet the names. Best place to start would be freejinger, its all over the forums there
Hope that helps
Reread the articles it has been stated many times that josh molested 4 of his sisters and I other family member probably a cousin. Regardless, is what he did any less heinous if he did it to his sisters or strangers. He is probably lucky he kept it in the family because if he did it outside he probably wouldn't be here to tell his story. Anyone who condone or minimize what he did is beyond ignorant
Stop making excuses for this grub...he was 14, at 14 you know right from wrong. I don't care if he would be released at 18 and his record expunged, he and his parents are abhorrent "human beings". As for the girls, what!!!! you don't think that being molested by your brother and your parents making excuses for him could be less worse than the media putting it out there. Perhaps they are pleased it's out there, I know I would be, why should the brother be protected. Those parents should be in jail, they shouldn't even call themselves parents, they are an abomination on the world. Paedophilia and on your sisters is about as low as you can get.
