1. Shakira is the latest celebrity to star in a maternity photoshoot. The Colombian singer and future judge of The Voice US has shared the images on her social media accounts, adding, “We’d like to celebrate the imminent birth of our first child with all of you.” Unlike the slew of stars who have posed naked in recent months, 35-year-old Shakira accessorised her bump a tad more sensibly, with a bikini top and loose-fitting pants.
The baby boy, due to arrive at the end of the month, will be the first child of Shakira and her partner, Spanish footballer Gerard Piqué.
As part of UNICEF’s Inspired Gifts program, the couple are hosting a ‘virtual baby shower’, asking fans to purchase items ranging from mosquito nets to polio vaccines for children in need – rather than sending gifts for their future son.
“We hope that, in his name, other less privileged children in the world can have their basic needs covered through gifts and donations,” the couple said.

3. Sir Elton John and partner David Furnish have welcomed their second baby boy via surrogate.
Elijah Joseph Daniel Furnish-John (try saying that five times fast without hiccuping over the syllables) was born in Las Vegas late last week.
Elijah is the new brother of 2-year-old Zachary, who was reportedly born to the same surrogate mother.

Does anyone else think it's unfair on Elton John's kids that he adopted them at such an old age? Especially considering the other story on Mamamia at the moment about dealing with the grief of a parent dying while the kids are young. It's inevitable that Elton John is going to die possibly even before these kids hit puberty. I think it's great that they're out of the state system and with parents who can take care of them financially, but I wonder about the emotional toll later on in life...
I dont think they were adopted. Doesn't it say they were using a surrogate?
What is with all these pregnant women with no stretch-marks??? It must be photo shop, surely. There can't possibly be that many women lucky enough to not get stretch marks in the one place. That's just unfair.
I am suprised that some celebrities who did get very large during their pregnancies do not have any stretch marks e.g. Jessica Simpson, Jennifer Lopez, Pink. I didn't get any stretch marks during my pregnancy, yet I have them on my hips from puberty. It is the luck of the draw.
I had twins then two more babies and I have no stretch marks. Just lucky I guess and possibly genetics - but my sister got really bad ones, so who knows?
