FiFi Box has voiced her views on embattled The Whole Pantry founder Belle Gibson — and she didn’t hold back in expressing her “absolute fury”.
In a ‘tell-all’ interview published in the Australian’s Women’s Weekly today, social media entrepreneur Belle Gibson finally admitted she lied about overcoming ‘terminal cancer’ by adopting a healthy diet — and radio broadcaster and television presenter FiFi Box has revealed on radio this morning exactly how unimpressed she is with those claims.

Speaking on the Fifi and Dave Breakfast Show on hit 101.9 The Fox this morning, an outraged FiFi said she was “so upset on behalf of people with legitimate illnesses and diseases” who relied on those claims.
“Let’s face it, people have probably made choices about their lives and their health based on her advice,” the 38-year-old radio personality said.
“Some people may have actually passed away. People are making choices about healing themselves from cancer based on her blatant lie about curing herself of a disease she never had,” she added.
“To make light of cancer, but then to tell people how to cure themselves — it is disgraceful.”
FiFi went on to read out excerpts of Ms Gibson’s exclusive Australian Women’s Weekly interview — and slammed various parts of the wellness blogger’s explanation as ridiculous.

Ms Box needs to look closely at her media colleagues before she casts too many stones in Ms Gibson's direction. Morning TV shows are littered with interviews with naturopaths and "holistic healers" and stories about a whole variety of supposed miracle cures in everyone's pantry for all manner of ills.
Yes, people do get informed about "alternative medicine" form naturopaths and holistic healers. Said that, I must add that the ideas of naturopaths and holistic healers should not be dismissed entirely, but should always (compulsory) be incorporated with the treatment of modern medicine. The reason is that most medications are extracted alkaloids (or other substances, e.g., vitamins, which are playing an important part in the body's metabolism (Vitamin C which plays a role in the Citric Acid Cycle (also known as Tricarboxylic acid or TCA, or Krebs cycle). In addition extracts (alkaloids) are used fro preparations of medications, e. g., the alkaloid Vinconsin is extracted from the plant Vinca rosea (or periwinkle) (Latin name: Catharanthus roseus, belongs to the family Apocynacea) and is used for treatment against cancer as it was found that it (the alkaloid) inhibits the division of cancerous cells during the phase known as metaphase of cell division. Another example is the alkaloid extracted from the plant Belladonna (Latin name: Atropa belladonna, from the family Solanaceae), which is used for hearth rate regulation. 1. and 2.

Ms Gibson's deception was unforgivable & cruel.
But while everyone is focusing the whole discussion on her deception I feel we are also missing the discussion that society seems obsessed with celebrity, attention seeking & the need to be noticed at all costs.
I stopped listening ages ago to all my friends who followed her & others obsessed with clean eating, curing illnesses, bikini bodies etc & having a higher level of smug than others.
She is just one of many that has been making bogus claims about curing cancer & every other medical issue (even though she was lying) & everyone fell over themselves to jump on the bandwagon & boost the gurus bank balance.
I don't need a medical degree to suss this was always bogus. Get some common sense people - you make it so easy for them to continue.
