Wanna know how The Body maintains the body?
Elle MacPherson, 51, reckons it’s all about keeping your body “in an alkaline state”.
How do you know your body’s pH level at any given time? Why, you make your way through the world with a little urine-testing kit in your handbag, of course!
“I believe that most ailments come from having an acidic body,” she told London’s Evening Standard in a short Q&A.
It’s fortunate MacPherson is the co-founder of a new luxury “wellness” company called WelleCo that makes Super Elixir Alkalising Greens supplements, then. Phew!
“I don’t worry about wrinkles,” she says. “I tackle internal ageing by nourishing my cells from the inside and the welcome by-product is looking and feeling good.”
According to the acidic/alkaline theory, a typical Western-style diet causes an overload of acid which in turn creates a perfect breeding ground for ill-health, ranging from cancer to the common cold, to flourish.
Devotees limit or completely eliminate many staples including meat, dairy, wheat and certain fruits and vegetables.
To ensure your body remains alkaline, you keep track of the body’s pH level by peeing on handy pH test sticks – what could be simpler?

"I don't worry about wrinkles." HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!
Then why do you have a face full of muscle and nerve paralysing toxins, luv?
It'd be great if people just advocated eating good, fresh foods, in the right balance, preferably that you make yourself or at least choosing things which aren't highly processed and laden with excess calories most of the time, having the treat things you like occasionally, getting out and moving around and just enjoying your foods and your life - instead of this idea that if you aren't following their particular (usually costly) advice with their recommended (costly) products, which have no actual evidence of efficacy, you are failing yourself and everyone you love and doomed to ill health and a dismal life.
If you want to improve your health then do it, but don't get so caught up that you suffer both with your quality of life and the balance of your bank account.
People are so confused over what is right, so many of these wellness people contradict each other, and obsessed with the moral value of their foods and beating themselves up if they can't always eat what is 'good and avoid what is 'bad' and spend their time trying to live up to some ideal instead of just living, it's sad.
But no one would make any money that way.
