Drew Barrymore thinks her post-baby body looks like a kangaroo.
40-year-old actress, former Charlie’s Angel and mother Drew Barrymore, is getting very honest about her body after having babies.
Barrymore has two children, two-year-old Frankie and Olive, 11 months. She spoke to Glamour about her body after giving birth, saying she finds it tough to love herself and her post-baby body.
“After making two babies, holy cow, does your body do some crazy stuff!” Barrymore said.
“It’s hard to stay positive and love yourself. You feel like a kangaroo with a giant pouch; everything’s saggy and weird. But you think about how beautiful it is that you’re able to make children. When I lose sight of that, I exercise, read Dr. Seuss’s Oh, the Places You’ll Go!, and spend time with my kids. Then I start to see things that are bigger than myself.”

As far as celebrity advice goes, this is pretty spot on. With constant tabloid attention focusing on “amazing post-baby body transformations”, it’s incredibly refreshing to hear a mega famous celebrity mum get real about her body.
And if you’re in need of a little pick-me-up, take Barrymore’s advice and remember the wise words of Dr. Seuss.
“You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose. You’re on your own. And you know what you know. And YOU are the one who’ll decide where to go…”
