Chris Bath is baffled by how much people care that she’s quitting Seven.
She was ousted. She jumped before she was pushed. Newsroom politics became too much. She wanted more money. The dastardly Samantha Armytage engineered it.
These are just some of the rumours swirling about Chris Bath’s shock exit from her rumoured $800,000 a year job at Channel Seven.
The newsreader is being replaced by Melissa Doyle, a former Sunrise host who was herself replaced by Armytage in 2013.
The truth? YOU CAN’T HANDLE THE TRUTH!

The truth is, no one knows exactly what caused Bath, 48, to leave her position at a network she’s been a part of for 20 years.
She herself says she’s ready for a new direction; everyone else and his dog begs to differ.
So, let’s examine all the possibilities.
Bath has reportedly had beef with Channel Seven’s news director Chris Willis for years, and there’s speculation the tension in the newsroom became unbearable.
She hasn’t mentioned him directly, but she’s called their exchanges “robust debate.”
“I don’t know a newsroom without tension,” she told the Daily Telegraph. What we call that, my friends, is a non-denial.
Then there’s Samantha Armytage, 37, with whom Bath has had a troubled relationship at the network.
It was Armytage who dubbed her “Bath Vader”, a nickname that Bath ran with, turning up at Channel Seven studios the day after the story was reported carrying a light saber.

I came here to read this article and a video started auto playing. I couldn't figure out where it was though! I was scanning down the page for several minutes before I found the guilty culprit. This auto playing of videos on sites is getting more and more prominent. This particular article finally convinced me to make an effort to see if I could change my auto play settings, and I have now done so. So far this seems to be working.
The thing is that none of these sites seem to consider is that many, many people (possibly the majority) are looking at this stuff on the sly at work, obviously they ain't going to go back to your site if they realise that everytime they go to the site that it will be loudly announced via video that they are bludging at work. By the way having said that, believe it or not, I look at this stuff in my spare time, I have a very busy job so never use my work internet connection to bludge, but I will admit there has been some jobs in the past that I hated that i occasionally used to do this, so I know that it is rife. Well of course people shouldn't be accessing the internet for recreational purposes when they are working, but the reality is many are, and you and all these other sites are going to lose customers if you do this.
Oh and also even for people like myself, who are accessing this at home, what if I don't wish to disturb everyone else in the house, maybe partner taking a nap, or shift worker, whilst I look at the internet, does this mean I have to remember to switch off my speakers each time? Also what if, like myself, you have limited internet GBs.
I say all this because I love mamamia's site because I can read the articles, I am not remotely interested in watching a video/listen to sound, but if people are they can choose to click play, don't force it on people, you will lose customers. Do the advertisers on your site really want you to lose customers?
Oh my God, sing it, sister (or brother)! I agree with everything you've just said times about a million bajillion (that's totally a number).
In terms of the videos, I've found out that I can stop them playing by clicking on them, which makes them pause. This of course appears as though I've clicked on the site of the advertiser, which does not make me happy, since I couldn't care less about the baby food, or whatever it is, commercial.
For the love of God, please, tell me how to stop the clips from automatically happening, so I can stop giving clicks to sites I'd never visit.
Totally agree with you! I like to read in bed and it's annoying the auto videos.
