Oh dear. Amal Clooney asked 'who are you wearing?' while arguing Armenian genocide case.

Because when you’re fighting a human rights case, we all know the most important thing is who you’re wearing.

Amal Clooney, the international human rights lawyer who married that guy from the Nespresso commercial, is in court this week fighting her first big case of 2015.

Clooney, 36, is representing the nation state of Armenia against the leader of the Turkish Workers Party, Doğu Perinçek, who has denied  – on behalf of Turkey – the Armenian genocide that occured in 1915.

So of course, when catching a few seconds alone with her, a reporter’s first question was: Who are you wearing?

Without missing a beat, Clooney replied: “I’m wearing Ede & Ravenscroft,” referring to the makers of her legal robes.

Amal is a fashion icon, no doubt about that. Her outrageously impressive wardrobe in the lead up to her marriage to actor George Clooney, drew praise from sartorialists globally. And when she’s walking a red carpet dressed in Prada or Gucci, accompanying her husband to an awards night then sure, ask the woman about her frock.

But when she’s in court arguing a landmark case that a genocide which killed thousands of people took place?

Just let the woman do her damn job.
