Queensland woman falls pregnant on her third date with an online match despite taking the morning after pill.

What would be a nightmare for most people three dates into a fledgling romance turned out to be a dream come true for a Queensland couple who fell pregnant just weeks after meeting online.

Di Peppler, 35, was on the verge of deleting popular dating app Plenty of Fish when she received a message from 34-year-old Sean Sweeney, telling her she had “beautiful eyes”.

The Atherton nurse and Innisfail engineer instantly hit it off and after several weeks of non-stop chatting decided they ought to meet.

“It was just so easy,” Peppler told the Daily Telegraph about the couple’s first date. “We were both attracted to each other, but not in a way that made me feel nervous.”

The pair talked for nearly five hours on that first meeting and by the third date had slept together.

A few weeks later, Di took a take home pregnancy test and discovered she'd fallen pregnant, despite having taken the morning after pill.

"I just gasped," she said.

"Like, ‘Oh, my god, what am I going to do? I’ve only seen this guy a few times. He’s going to do a runner. Of course he is.’"

Di was sure she wanted to keep the baby, but had no idea how Sean was going to react.

She broke the news in a text message.

"I sent him a text message that said, 'What’s every guy’s worst nightmare when you’ve just met someone? You’d better call me when you have a chance'", she recalled.

Sean knew exactly what she met and called her up straight away.

"Oh, well, I suppose it was going to happen some time," he said, despite never planning to have kids.

Nine months, later Isobel Violet was born and six months on from that the young family are now living blissfully in Sean's Innisfail home.

"I knew I was falling in love with her in just those first few weeks," he told the Daily Telegraph.

"It’s been pretty amazing, actually."

Di agreed, telling the newspaper that ordinary dating "hurdles" were being jumped at lightning speed.

"One minute I’d told him I was pregnant and the next minute he was farting in front of me. I was like, ‘Hey! We’re still meant to be in the honeymoon period — you can’t do that!’ And Sean was like, ‘Babe, we’re way past that now'", she said.
