Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger has spoken out in the wake of girlfriend L’Wren Scott’s death.
The 49-year-old fashion designer was found dead in her Manhattan apartment earlier this week.
Writing on The Stones’ Facebook wall, Jagger said:
I am still struggling to understand how my lover and best friend could end her life in this tragic way.
We spent many wonderful years together and had made a great life for ourselves.
She had great presence and her talent was much admired, not least by me.
I have been touched by the tributes that people have paid to her, and also the personal messages of support that I have received.
I will never forget her,
Mick
The designer – favoured by stars like Christina Hendricks and Oprah Winfrey as well as the likes of Michelle Obama, Sarah Jessica Parker, Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss – was found by her assistant.
Mick Jagger was in Australia when the news broke. The Rolling Stones have since postponed their Australasia tour.
