Australian wildlife warrior Bindi Irwin has come to the defence of her mum Terri, saying the rumours about her love life are just that.
Speaking with KISS FM hosts Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O this morning the 17-year-old Dancing With the Stars US winner said that her mum is “still absolutely married to dad, and I really believe that each and every one of us has that one person in our life.”
Terri and Steve were married for 14 years before his untimely death in 2006, when the 44-year-old suffered a stingray barb to the heart while filming underwater animals for a documentary. Bindi was just 6 years old at the time.

According to Terri, their romance was love at first sight, recalling, “He came up and, with a broad Australian accent, said, “G’day, mate.” Uh-oh, I thought. I’m in trouble.”
Along with Bindi's younger brother Bob, now aged 12, the family continue to live at Australia Zoo in Queensland, a wildlife sanctuary originally set up by Steve's parents in 1970.
Upon reading of the alleged new love, Bindi says her superwoman mum took it all in her stride.
“Mum read that article and went, ‘Wow! He's so mysterious that I don't even know about it!’”

Following reports, Australia Zoo confirmed to the Daily Mail that the family were not planning a move to the US, saying that, "the Irwin family live at Australia Zoo. They always have and they are not planning to move anywhere."
Bindi, who recently received her driver's licence, says that her dad is forever in her heart, and says that she can feel him with her, adding he's "always with us".
