Twitter feuds come and go.
Sometimes you crack a 140-character gag and it sinks like a stone. Other times, if you happen to have upwards of 900,000 followers, your joke will set fire to the Twitterverse.
Yesterday, Bette Midler made a kind of funny joke about Kim Kardashian and it went down a treat with pretty much everyone except Kim Kardashian.
Watch Kim Kardashian take her best friend Jonathan around her expansive mansion (post continues after video).
If you missed the saga it went a bit like this: Kimmy posts nude selfie; Bette is underwhelmed, makes a joke; Kim responds with more jokes and another nude. Lots of chime in and, now, Bette says Kim should learn to take a joke.
A lot of people think Kim has handled this whole non-drama pretty well.
Funny. Kim Kardashian gets jokes, okay Bette?
In order to keep the gag going, a few other celebs have chimed in sand, starting a little on-the-side feud of their own.
In a tweet which has now been deleted, actress Chloe Moretz said: “I truly hope you realize how important setting goals are [sic] for young women, teaching them we have so much more to offer than just our bodies.”
Which, unfortunately, made the whole thing take on a weird slut-shaming vibe.
Teen queen actress, Bella Thorne, responded:
Moretz responded again:

Regardless of what she or others think, KK has put back the fight for equal rights more than anyone else (with the possible exception of The Donald - now wouldn't the two of them make an interesting photo shoot) - and the public laps it up. Why? because photos of naked women sells - as do the rants of Presidential candidates. I don't think I'm alone in wishing KK all the best in her little world but she should be aware that she does more damage than she can ever imagine. To those of us with daughters (and sons) she is just a self-obsessed woman with no class (along with prat hubby) who appears to have little regard for her own self-worth and that of others. Bette + Miley are miles ahead in terms of classy. Both women use their celeb status to actually help others in need - not just serving their own. With 1% of the population owning as much wealth as the other 99% KK is on the wrong side of history. She will be remembered (for there will come a time when the spotlight on her will fade) for being a shallow, totally self-centred piece of meat. The only bright side in all this is the day KK realises most of us are laughing at her rather than with her - and the day her body starts to go south (there's only so much plastic in this world) and will prove to be just to embarrassing even for her to 'share' - till then, she'll continue to rake it in - in much the same way The Donald draws his crowds - in much the same way public hangings and bear bating did in previous times
Kim Kardashian liberated??? she's more enslaved by superficiality than I care to measure!
