It’s been over a year since Belle Gibson’s wellness empire began to crumble around her but she’s yet to face any legal repercussions for her cancer lie.
The disgraced blogger failed to front up to court in Melbourne this morning where she was expected to defend herself against Federal Court action by Victoria’s consumer watchdog.
She and her lawyers also failed to attend a case management hearing on Friday.
Belle Gibson discussed the scandal on 60 Minutes last year (post continues after video):
Consumer Affairs Victoria Catherine Button said she gave no explanation for failing to show, according to the Herald Sun.
“We didn’t know until today she wouldn’t be attending,” Button said.
Justice Debbie Mortimer described allegations against the Whole Pantry founder as “serious” and hoped she was aware of the consequences of not facing them.
“I want to give Ms Gibson one further opportunity to file a notice of address for service and a defence.”
Consumer Affairs Victoria has until next Friday to serve legal papers to Ms Gibson and she has until the 10th of July to comply.

This whole story is like a car crash - I can't watch anymore!
Of course she didn't show up, in her mind why should she take responsibility for anything, on her 60 minutes interview you could see she was delusional and felt no shame or remorse. She probably feels like she is a victim of some conspiracy.
