There’s nothing we love more than a good ol’ episode of Farmer Wants A Wife – except when one potential “wife” decides she’s actually not that keen on waiting around for a guy to choose between her and three other women, and becomes a candidate for federal parliament.
Megan Purcell, one of four women competing for the affections of farmer Julz on this season’s Farmer Wants A Wife, has been a member of the Liberal party since she was a teenager and first ran for Parliament when she was only 20.
Now 31, she’s just been pre-selected to run for the Liberals in the seat of Bendigo next election.
“More huge news you guys… I am so grateful to be elected tonight as the Federal Liberal candidate for Bendigo,” she announced on social media earlier today.
“Pretty darn proud to be a part of Malcolm Turnbull’s team and looking forward to getting out and meeting and listening to you all, right across Central Victoria.”
